BAYOOMED @CYSECMED 2026

CySecMed —the conference on cybersecurity in medical technology —will take place on October 13 and 14, 2026 at the Holiday Inn Munich – Unterhaching.

The focus is on the current challenges facing manufacturers of connected, software-driven medical devices: EU regulations and international requirements, risk and threat management, product lifecycle security, realistic attack scenarios, as well as over-the-air updates and patch management. Approximately 120–150 industry experts and executives are expected to attend—accompanied by a partner exhibition. The conference is aimed at software engineers, safety and security managers, R&D teams, as well as product managers and technical project managers whose products are software-driven, connected, and safety-critical.

A special highlight will be the presentation by Sebastian Wittor, project manager at BAYOOMED GmbH, on October 14, 2026, from 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. in Room Kopernikus 1, titled:

“What Does Safety Mean for Medical Devices, and How Can I Make My Product Truly Safer?”

The presentation clearly distinguishes between safety, security, and compliance, and demonstrates why regulatory compliance alone does not guarantee true security. Using a threat-model-based approach, it becomes clear which measures are actually effective—and which ones only look good on paper. This is complemented by practical tips on risk acceptance documentation and a guide for teams currently setting up a cybersecurity program. In conclusion, Sebastian offers a look ahead at upcoming challenges such as AI-powered attacks and the evolution of regulatory frameworks.

Sounds exciting? Sebastian is looking forward to meeting you at the event.
