Ypsomed hopes this free app will help it further strengthen the insulin pump’s market position.
So, the specialists in injection and infusion systems issued a request for proposals to find a service provider who, together with the in-house IT department, would launch a new development project. They found what they were looking for in the Darmstadt-based experts in the development of medical software solutions.
As the Medical Software Business Unit of the BAYOONET Group, the team members have nearly ten years of project experience in the regulated medical and pharmaceutical sectors. The joint project with Ypsomed AG also yielded new insights. After all, managing the international team of 30 people across different locations was just one of the project’s challenges. However: “We formed various SCRUM teams to ensure collaboration within the constantly growing team,” explains Bruno Anselmi. He also viewed the exchange between Switzerland and Darmstadt positively. “For the English-speaking team, that wasn’t a problem.”

As with any project, the initial plans had to be rethought. “At the beginning, we envisioned a closely integrated collaboration between verification and implementation—but we had to adjust that as the project progressed,” says Bruno Anselmi. However, the transition went smoothly.
This served as a valuable complement to the expertise of the specialists at Ypsomed AG, thereby strengthening the joint project.
He was also impressed by the company’s expertise regarding applicable standards and legal requirements—a critical factor, particularly for regulated medical devices. These factors ultimately led to the partnership between Ypsomed AG and BAYOOMED.
